DONNA Foundation hosts Mother’s Day 5K

On Saturday, May 11, The DONNA Foundation held its annual ICE DONNA Mother’s Day 5K. The event drew more than 1,000 participants to the historic Riverside neighborhood to celebrate survivorship and moms everywhere on Mother’s Day weekend.
One in every three patients served by The DONNA Foundation is a mother with children at home. Race proceeds fuel The DONNA Foundation’s mission to provide hope, support and financial relief to those living with breast cancer.

The ICE DONNA Mother’s Day 5K is the pinnacle event of The DONNA Foundation’s Celebrate Every Mom campaign, honoring moms everywhere through fundraising, advocacy and more. Thanks to a matching gift challenge, sponsored by Golf Fights Cancer, funds raised during the campaign were to be matched up to $20,000.

By hosting this event on the Saturday of Mother’s Day weekend, foundation leaders hope to inspire moms everywhere to take steps toward understanding, improving and protecting their breast health –– this and every year.
