Eleanor Albanese Loftus, born 7/27/1930 in Brockton, MA, passed away peacefully on 2/15/2026 at the age of 95. Eleanor was proud of her career as a dental hygienist through which she met the love of her life, Edward R Loftus, DMD. In 1964 they moved to Scituate with two children who survive her: Ed, and Kristin (Fletcher). In Florida retirement she enjoyed golfing and hosting happy hours at home with Edward and welcomed visits from family for many years before moving to Ponte Vedra Beach to be near her daughter. Always active, Eleanor was an early morning fixture for 25 years at The Lodge & Club, working out daily and earning “Fitness Member of The Month” award in her sixties. She savored walks on the beach and seeing friends at Panera’s for post-workout coffee. More than anything, she cherished time with grandchildren John Jr, Olivia and Phoebe Fletcher and visits with Alice, Rob and John Loftus from Massachusetts. She was known to say, “Like Picasso said, ‘You’re the age you choose to be.’” She would never say what age that was but it worked for her. For the last few years of her life, she was content living at Rosecastle of Deerwood Memory Care and made sure to tell everyone that they should retire there, and brush their teeth. In addition to her children and grandchildren Eleanor is survived by two stepdaughters, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, and six great-grandchildren. Her peppy spirit and love for her family will be missed. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ecosphere Restoration Institute in Tampa or Wounded Warrior Project in Jacksonville would be appreciated.
