There’s something exhilarating about spending the first cool morning of the season enjoying fresh air and selecting seasonal produce for classic fall dishes. Each year, Wesley Wells Farms stirs up excitement for the beginning of the holiday season and brisk weather. Families flocked to the farm’s Pumpkin Festival and Handmade Market on Saturday, Sept. 26.
Farm guests enjoyed picking produce, taking photos in the vibrant Sunn Hemp fields, meeting the adorable farm animals, shopping for seasonal items from local vendors and spending quality time with loved ones. There was live music by Wyatt Shane Music, Bryson Hendricks Band and Hallie Pecnik Music. Delicious lunches and sweet treats were available from local food trucks including Mr. Softee Ice Cream, The Sugared Lemon and Family Grounds.
Among the farm animals, there were chickens, pigs and cows. Farm guests got the opportunity to meet the mini Highland cows and discovered the excitement of pig racing!
The vendor market was full of tasty fall treats and seasonal finds including sour dough, cookies, jam preserves, honey, handmade soap, crochet gifts and clothing. There was even a book truck called Wandering Pages, where visitors could pick out their next cozy, autumnal read.
Known as the only pumpkin patch in St. Augustine where you can pick your own pumpkins off the vine, Wesley Wells Farms offers plenty of farm fun for the whole family.
Throughout October, they host Pumpkin Patch Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. These laid-back fall mornings have a variety of seasonal activities to enjoy including pumpkin picking, hayrides, kids zone activities, farm animal feeding and photo ops. Be sure to bring a wagon to transport your pumpkins and perhaps a tote bag to carry vegetables and flowers from their You-Pick fields (pumpkins, flowers and vegetables purchased separately).
Wesley Wells Farms is dedicated to sharing the beauty and significance of agriculture with the community. The family-owned farm creates meaningful moments where families can slow down, learn and connect with the land. To learn more and purchase pumpkin patch tickets, go to https://wesleywellsfarm.com.
