The Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra delivered dinner to  more than 80 medical personnel at Baptist Medical Center South on Tuesday night.

The effort is part of a club project called “Feed the Frontline,” providing meals to frontline workers who are caring for COVID-19 patients at local hospitals during this surge.

Baptist Medical Cener South is one of five Baptist Health hospitals in Northeast Florida. As a system, Baptist Health is treating more than 500 patients in our community. Nearly 1,000 team members have volunteered to work extra shifts to help care for these patients.

Elizabeth Gunn, VP of Patient Care Services at Baptist Medical Center South, said, “On behalf of our team members who are working tirelessly throughout this pandemic to care for those in our community, thank you. The kindness and compassion that the Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra has shown through their donation to our healthcare heroes is truly appreciated.”

“Feed the Frontline” continues Thursday,  Aug. 19, when the Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra will deliver another dinner to approximately 40 employees in the support services department at Baptist Medical Center South.

Volunteers will pick up pizzas at the Pieology restaurant in Nocatee around 7 p.m. and deliver the food to a drop-off point just outside of Baptist Medical Center South around 8 p.m.
