Garden Center Day focus: native vegetation effect at Huguenot Memorial Park

Ribault Garden Club welcomes the public to Garden Center Day from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, March 23, to learn about the native vegetation effects within one of the largest park systems in North America.

Guest speaker Jolie Friedrich is a park naturalist for the City of Jacksonville. One of her passions is sharing her hands-on wildlife conservation fieldwork with the public.

Huguenot Memorial Park offers a naturalist-guided beach walk, led a long portions of the Great Florida Birding Trail where you can see and learn about wildlife and birds. At Jacksonville’s parks, you can enjoy a wide range of exciting and engaging experiences.

There are traditional neighborhood and regional parks as well as 22 community centers conveniently located throughout the city. 

The event will be held at Ribault Garden Club, 705 Second Ave. N., Jacksonville Beach. Admission is free. There will be refreshments, door prize and a raffle.
