Kathy’s Gardening Guide: Fall & Winter Flowers

Posted

Who else is excited that the weather is getting cooler and a few trees are changing color? Fall and winter can bring a range of weather in Northeast Florida, but there are many plants that do well in these conditions.

Even with a hot day sprinkled in with a freeze, there are some hardier plants and flowers we can plant during this time with a higher chance of survival until spring comes around.

With the frequent rain, fungus is also very common this time of year. Use Daconil Fungicide or an organic spray to help keep plants and flowers healthy.

Popular fall and winter flowers in our zone: dusty miller, dianthus, petunias, supertunias, snapdragons, pansy, crotons, blue daze, sedum, gold mound, pentas, mums, geranium and violas.

Stop by the nursery this week to grab your fall and winter flowers.

Flower of the Week: Geranium
