Letter to the Editor: A1A project would add to confusion

To the Editor:

The Florida DOT is currently holding citizen meetings to roll out the proposed “improvements” to A1A in Ponte Vedra Beach. The backlash from residents has been overwhelmingly negative, mostly due to the elimination of intersection crossings. The bar was set very low from FL DOT when A1A was reconstructed (bypass) in the ’70s when they inexplicably confused north from south. All northbound addresses are south and vice versa, causing all kinds of GPS confusion. This new plan only adds to the madness.
