Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Limelight Theatre is excited to present, “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change.” This musical comedy will run from Jan. 29 to Feb. 15 in St. Augustine.

Limelight Theatre is St. Augustine’s only year-round community theatre. The theatre presents a full season of musicals, plays and youth productions and offers theatre education programs for children and adults. In 2026, the theatre will celebrate its 35th anniversary.

The production of “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” is directed by husband-and-wife team Daniel and Heather Starling, whose own marriage brings authenticity, humor and heartfelt insight to the show. The production dissects dating, commitment and the mess of modern relationships.

“It’s impossible not to recognize ourselves in this material, being married while directing a musical about love, compromise and miscommunication has made this production especially meaningful and even funnier,” said the Starlings.

The cast features Facia Lee, Mitchell Wohl, Emily Layt and Noah Peacock, each portraying dozens of characters as they journey from awkward first dates to enduring marriages in a series of witty, fast-paced vignettes that celebrate love in all its forms.

“I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” is one of the longest-running off-Broadway musicals of all time. With book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro and music by Jimmy Roberts, the comedy is loved for its smart humor, catchy music and its ability to make audiences laugh at the realities of romance.

The play will run through Valentine’s weekend, and it may be the perfect opportunity to turn a night at the theatre into a full St. Augustine experience. Limelight’s hotel and restaurant ambassadors, which include DoubleTree by Hilton St. Augustine Historic District, Casa Monica Resort & Spa, Raintree Restaurant and Smokin’ D’s BBQ, are offering memorable dining and overnight options to pair with the show.
