The Florida Writers Association has named “Ron’s World: All the Times I Died” its current Book of the Month selection.

Written by former Miller Electric CEO and Chairman Ron Autrey, the book chronicles Autrey’s life as seen against the backdrop of one of the most transformative periods in world history: the 1950s to the present day. While recounting the era’s remarkable advancements in technology, medicine and exploration — along with its wars, famines and natural disasters — Autrey punctuates his historical chronicle with personal recollections, including accounts of several near-death experiences.

“I was both humbled and gratified to learn of this honor,” Autrey said. “For a guy like me, the ‘town electrician,’ to have my first book recognized by other authors is very encouraging.”

“Ron’s World” recounts Autrey’s boyhood experiences growing up in Jacksonville in the 1950s and 1960s, his time in the Army, and his climb in the electrical contracting business to become a prominent local businessman and philanthropist. As its title implies, “Ron’s World” is an examination of the times in which its author lived.

“The ability to look back and remember the events in my life with some level of accuracy has been a personal blessing for me,” Autrey said. “A study of the years from 1950 to 2022 provided a fascinating chronology of life-changing events and larger-than-life people who built the foundation for the complex world we live in today.”

“Ron’s World” is available on Amazon.com. Autrey noted that all profits from sales of the book go to K9s for Warriors. Proceeds from the sale of his forthcoming book, “Synope,” will benefit the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
