Pollinator census announced

The Great Florida Pollinator Census, part of a multistate project run by the University of Georgia Extension, is looking for local people to count pollinators at home or a local park. Using AI in a job search is workshop topic

The Savvy Job Hunters Ministry of Christ Episcopal Church will host a free virtual workshop, “Using AI in the Job Search,” from 10:30 a.m. to noon Friday, Aug. 22.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing the landscape of the job search. Join career adviser Lynn Larson and David Mann, internship and employer relations coordinator from Florida State College at Jacksonville, to learn the basics of AI, including how to formulate effective prompts, which aid in resume building and preparing for job interviews.

Florida history subject of Democratic Club meeting

The next Ponte Vedra Democratic Club monthly meeting will be held Tuesday, Aug. 26, at the Ponte Vedra Beach Library, 101 Library Blvd. Optional chat & chew is at 5:30 p.m. Meeting starts at 6 p.m.

The featured speaker is Scott Grant, financial planner by trade and Florida history buff, who will speak about the 1964 Jax Beatles Concert, Civil Rights initiatives in St. Augustine and other nuggets of Florida history.

Nature journaling event planned

Join nature journaling instructor Elaine Bergstrom at the Guana Tolomato Matanzas (GTM) National Estuarine Research Reserve to explore the wonders at the reserve from 9:50 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 7.

Each month focuses on a different topic using words, pictures and numbers to learn more about what participants observe.
