Boeing delivers its 1,000th modified F/A-18 fighter jet from Jacksonville

Boeing’s team in Jacksonville just hit a huge milestone; they’ve completed their 1,000th modification on the F/A-18 Hornet and Super Hornet aircraft. That’s more than 25 years of hard work supporting the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.

Since 1999, the Jacksonville Global Services team has played a key role in keeping these fighter jets in top shape.

They’ve worked on everything from the older Legacy Hornets to the newer Super Hornets and Growlers, growing and evolving right alongside the aircraft to make sure they’re ready whenever duty calls.

Starting out with just 28 people, the team now handles upgrades and maintenance on all kinds of F/A-18 models — including planes flown by the Blue Angels — doing everything from inspections to repairs to keep these jets mission-ready.
