Public may offer feedback on budget sessions

St. Johns County invites the public to offer feedback on the Fiscal Year 2025 budget workshop sessions recently hosted by County Administrator Joy Andrews. The public can email their questions to budget2025@sjcfl.us, and the Office of Management & Budget (OMB) will respond.

The county held the sessions May 10-24. They were broadcast live on the county’s website through its Office of Public Affairs and GovTV operations. They were also recorded and are available at sjcfl.us/watch-govtv-live in the Archived Videos section in the Other Videos Archive listing.

OMB has details about the Fiscal Year 2025 budget on its webpage at sjcfl.us/2025budget. It includes the workshop workbook, which offers budget summaries, the budget by fund accounting, department presentations and other details. The web page also allows the public to customize their budget book by selecting various choices to produce a personalized PDF to download to their computer and print.

The county administration will provide budget recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners in July; at this time, the board will set the tentative millage rates (property tax). In September, the board will host two public hearings to adopt the budget. The new budget year begins Oct. 1.
