Starling at Nocatee Independent Living plans open house

The public is invited to Starling at Nocatee Independent Living on Sunday, Sept. 27, for its Fall Parade of Homes Open House. Tour multiple furnished apartments, meet friendly residents and team members, ask questions and enjoy light refreshments. Speaker announced for Essential Tremor meeting

The Essential Tremor Support Group will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Baptist HealthPlace at Nocatee, 400 Colonnade Drive, Unit 130; Ponte Vedra (Nocatee). Attendees will hear from Melissa Ruff, LCSW. She is an experienced psychotherapist working with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, stress, bipolar disorder and an array of other issues. Stress, common for many individuals, even those without “ET,” exacerbates the condition. Ruff will offer methods of mitigating these symptoms. All are welcome. Farmers market open every Friday

The Ponte Vedra Friday Farmers Market takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Friday at Palm Valley Outdoors, 377 S. Roscoe Blvd., Ponte Vedra Beach, offering fresh produce, local farm goods and a welcoming space to connect with neighbors and small businesses.

Public meeting on Lower St. Johns River Basin Plan set

The St. Johns River Water Management District will host a public meeting on the draft 2026 Lower St. Johns River Basin Plan. District staff will present updated regional priorities and objectives, answer questions and provide an opportunity for public comments.

The meeting will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, at District Headquarters, 4049 Reid St., Palatka.

 The draft basin plan will be posted on the district’s website Sept. 30.  A formal public comment period will be open from Sept. 30 through Oct. 21.

Ponte Vedra Democratic Club to meet

The Ponte Vedra Democratic Club is planning an informative meeting featuring Paul Owens, president of 1000 Friends of Florida, who will speak by Zoom about the conservation referendum on the Nov. 3 ballot. Also speaking is Anastasia Mosquito Control Board candidate Sandra Fein, who will share information about the latest research conducted at the center. The meeting will be held Wednesday, Oct. 14. Social gathering at 5 p.m., meeting at 5:30 p.m. at the Ponte Vedra Beach Library. Note the new date and time.
