Ocean Palms, Ponte Vedra High students pack holiday bags for Bayview Healthcare

Students at Ocean Palms Elementary School recently collaborated with Ponte Vedra High School’s Small Steps youth service group to package nearly 100 holiday treat bags for residents at the BayView Healthcare rehab and assisted living facility in St. Augustine.

The fifth grade students from Ocean Palms included their contributions of goodies in the bags and then individually packed and decorated them. The Ponte Vedra High School students created homemade recycled gift tags and baked cookies for BayView. The students also coordinated the donation of cookies, treats and poinsettia plants after Ocean Palms’ holiday celebrations, all of which were delivered to BayView.

This group of elementary school students, known as the Ambassadors, regularly participates in service projects around the community. Prior to the BayView project, the Ambassadors organized a book drive that donated more than 1,000 books to two St. Johns County school libraries.
