The PVHS Sharks hosted their inaugural Kickoff Classic on Thursday, July 30, at The Yards to raise money for this season’s football program. The event included a golf and tennis tournament, raffle and silent auction. The fundraiser was a great opportunity to build team culture and for parents to get to know one another and meet the coaching staff.
The funds raised totaled $27,000 and helped pay for a new trailer to transport equipment to away games, training resources and uniforms. The PVHS Sharks are grateful for their sponsors: Intrepid Private Wealth, John and Joanne White, The Lighthouse Wealth Management Group and George Moore Chevrolet.
“We are excited to once again compete this fall,” said Coach Price. “Playing football provides our student-athletes with an enjoyable opportunity to learn the importance of working together as a team to achieve a common goal,” he said.
The PVHS Sharks look forward to another exciting football season. This year’s team motto is “Earn Everything,” Price said. “This motto reflects our seniors’ strong belief in individual responsibility and the idea that success must be earned through hard work, discipline and commitment.”
The seniors chose “tenacity,” as this year’s word. Their goals for the season are to be great leaders, sacrifice for the team and believe in themselves, their work and the team.
