The Ponte Vedra Recorder has named Jon Blauvelt as reporter/production coordinator. In his new role, Blauvelt will write articles for the paper’s news, features and business coverage, providing in-depth coverage of local issues and events.

“We are thrilled to have Jon join our team,” Managing Editor Jennifer Logue said. “For nearly 50 years, the Ponte Vedra Recorder has been the paper that local residents trust for thoughtful, intelligent reporting, and Jon’s strong journalism background and exceptional writing skills will help us to continue to offer Recorder readers the stellar reporting they expect and deserve.”

A Pennsylvania native, Blauvelt holds degrees from Penn State in both broadcast journalism and political science. He brings experience in print and broadcast journalism as well as corporate communications to the Recorder.

He also has well-established ties to the Ponte Vedra community: Blauvelt’s grandparents have been residents of Vicar’s Landing and previously Solana Road for many years.

“I couldn’t be more excited to report in such a beautiful community that has always held a special place in my family’s collective heart,” Blauvelt said. “I’m very thankful to be part of the Recorder team.”
