Local business leader and author Ron Autrey has published his newest book, “Sea Shadows,” a reflective collection of poetry and short prose that marks a creative shift in his growing body of work.

Autrey, the retired CEO and chairman of Miller Electric, has recently embarked on a second career as an author, writing across multiple literary genres. His first book, “Ron’s World: All the Times I Died,” is a historical memoir that reflects on pivotal moments in his life within the broader context of world events. He followed its release with “Farnsworth’s Secret War,” a political spy thriller chronicling a decade in the life of a fictional West Point graduate and U.S. Army intelligence officer.

With “Sea Shadows,” Autrey turns inward, embracing a more lyrical and contemplative voice. The book weaves poetry and brief narratives that explore universal themes of love, loss, uncertainty, resilience and renewal.

“‘Sea Shadows’ is an exploration of the emotional landscapes we all travel,” Autrey said. “These poems and stories reflect moments of joy and sorrow, clarity and doubt — those quiet experiences that shape who we are and who we become.”

Drawing inspiration from memory, nature and the rhythms of coastal life, “Sea Shadows” invites readers to pause, reflect and connect with the shared human experience through language that is both intimate and accessible.

Published by EP House Publishing, “Sea Shadows” is available now from booksamillion.com and amazon.com.
