The Bishop Snyder boys basketball team interrupted Ponte Vedra High School’s winning streak on Tuesday, Jan. 25. The home team outscored the Sharks, 45-41, bringing the Ponte Vedra record to 18-3.
The Sharks’ next game will be at home on Tuesday, Feb. 1, against St. Joseph Academy.
The last win for the Sharks was a 70-55 game against the Yellow Jackets on Jan. 20. Here’s a look at that game played out:

Ponte Vedra withstood a third quarter barrage by St. Augustine by pulling away in the final quarter to earn their 18th victory and 14th in a row. The normally stingy Shark defense gave up 27 points to the visiting Yellow Jackets in the third stanza before tightening the reins in the final period to make the final score read 70-55.
Ross Candelino led another balanced Shark offense with 20 points, with Luke Pirris, JT Kelly and Nathan Bunkosky each adding 11. Kelly scored eight of his 11 points in the final quarter. Bunkosky added a career high 8 assists on the night while Candelino had a great all-around game with 6 rebounds and 4 assists.
