Fans got a glimpse of what next year’s football season may look like as Ponte Vedra High, Nease High and Beachside High each played their spring football games to cap spring practice.
The Sharks earned a convincing 24-6 victory on the road against Riverside, as they made the trip into Jacksonville and came back to St. Johns County victorious, a feeling they experienced many times a year ago en route to a postseason berth.
For the Panthers, they welcomed the Menendez High Falcons and lit up the scoreboard with a 44-25 win over the Falcons.
The Ponte Vedra Recorder was on site to provide coverage of the showdown between the Panthers and Falcons at Pather Stadium, but no media was allowed in the gate for the contest.
Meanwhile, the Barracudas offense was on fire and appeared in midseason form during a 52-8 win on the road at Terry Parker High in Jacksonville.
In the first half alone, the Barracudas receiving corps showcased its versatility as a unit hauling in five touchdowns and 279 yards on just nine completions.
All five receivers return next season for the Barracudas, and they have looked to perfect their timing with quarterback Eddie Jordan who has been operating the offense for years now and will enter his senior season in the fall.
