St. Johns County cautions public about approaching nor’easter

Posted

St. Johns County beaches are forecasted to experience unusually high surf and tides, dangerous rip currents and strong winds along the coastline beginning Friday, Nov. 5, and continuing through early next week due to a nor’easter. The most substantial effects are expected on Saturday. Some low-lying inland and coastal areas may experience flooding.

Residents and visitors are strongly encouraged to exercise extreme caution and avoid swimming in the ocean during this time. Some pedestrian access points may be affected, and on-beach driving may be restricted at access ramps due to tidal flooding. In addition, heavy rainfall and erosion may occur throughout this inclement weather event.
