The St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners will hold a special meeting at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, to consider applications for Agricultural Enclave Certification. The meeting will be held in the St. Johns County Auditorium, 500 San Sebastian View, St. Augustine, and is open to the public. The meeting will be livestreamed on the county Facebook, YouTube and GovTV platforms.
The applications are being considered under Senate Bill 686, a new state law establishing a process for qualifying agricultural properties surrounded by or adjacent to development to pursue residential development through Agricultural Enclave Certification. St. Johns County has received multiple applications under the new law, which has also prompted the county to evaluate potential legal options related to the legislation.
The Aug. 19 meeting will focus on the applications currently scheduled for board consideration. County staff will present information on the applications, and the board will receive public comment before taking action as appropriate. The meeting agenda and supporting materials are available on the St. Johns County Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller’s website.
