The event raised nearly $10,000, with all proceeds directly benefiting the coalition and the families it serves.

The fundraiser took place at the Bilotta Collection’s museum, located at 151 Sawgrass Corners Drive, where guests gathered to explore a one-of-a-kind assortment of rare and vintage memorabilia. The museum’s eclectic display includes everything from tin robots and 1950s sci-fi rocket rides to full-sized robots, playable arcade machines, and iconic movie posters.

The museum was founded by Kristine and Ozzie Bilotta, whose passion for collecting these treasures is matched by their dedication to giving back. Through events like this, the Bilottas are not just sharing their love of vintage memorabilia but also making a meaningful difference in the community.

“It’s always a good time to donate, to help homeless families, but it’s Christmas time, so this time of year is just awesome,” said Ozzie Bilotta at the event. “We think this is a very worthy cause.”

Guests at the event enjoyed the opportunity to browse the museum’s collection while learning about the vital work of HCSJC. The organization provides a range of services to help stabilize families in need, including housing, meals, and more. Currently, HCSJC operates a campus with 23 homes and is working on an expansion that will add 16 new duplex units to provide more families with a safe place to live.

“We’re getting families out of their cars, giving them a safe place to live, and helping them build the skills to be self-sufficient when they leave,” said HCSJC Board Member Jamie Mackey.

The funds raised at the event will go directly toward these expansion efforts, enabling HCSJC to reach more families and provide the resources they need to rebuild their lives.

In addition to raising funds, the event was an opportunity to celebrate the strength of community and the spirit of giving during the holiday season.

“We would also like to extend our deepest thanks to the attendees of the open house, whose generosity and support made this event such a success,” said HCSJC Board Member Martha G. Gleason in an email. “It is heartening to see members of the community come together to support a cause as important as ending homelessness, and we are grateful for each and every donation that was made.”

The Bilotta Collection’s collaboration with the HCSJC for the fundraiser not only showcased the museum’s extensive collection, but also highlighted the Bilotta family’s dedication to supporting local causes. By offering a space for the community to come together, the Bilotta Collection made a significant impact on the HCSJC’s plans to continue serving in-need families in St. John’s County.
