William (Bill) Karol, 94, passed away on September 11, 2023, from pneumonia and Covid in Jacksonville Beach, FL. He was an exceptionally loving husband, father and grandfather. He served in the US army as a Military Policeman in Germany.

Bill grew up in Brooklyn where he met his future wife, Rhoda, then had a son, Robert. They moved to Freehold, New Jersey, to a chicken farm where they lived with his father-in-law, Gus Fisher, mother-in-law, Minnie, and nephew, Barry, where they sold eggs from their chickens. They then had a daughter, Marcia, and moved into a new home.

Bill started a business called Ace Aluminum with Gus and Rhoda. It has since grown into a full family business that once also included Bill’s brother-in-law, Irving Stein, and nephew, Barry Fisher, who took it over along with his son, David. Barry and David have grown the business from what was once a small back alley store in 1953 to an over 10,000 square foot store on Highway 9 in Freehold, New Jersey.

After retirement, Bill and Rhoda moved to Wellington, FL, where they lived for 25 years. In 2021, they moved to Ponte Vedra, FL, to be closer to their son, daughter and grandchildren.

What people will remember most about Bill is his amazing sense of humor, friendships with all that knew him and his love of golf.

He leaves behind his wife of 73 years, Rhoda, daughter, Marcia Karol, son-in-law, Michael O’Reilly, and two grandchildren, Brittany and Chelsea Karol. His beloved son, Robert, passed in 2022.

There will be a viewing at Ponte Vedra Valley Funeral Home on Monday, September 18 from 10-11am with funeral services at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to B’nai B’rith International (202-857-6600).
