The North Florida chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society kicked off National MS Awareness week Monday, March 5 with the sixth annual silent auction at Bogey Grille in Ponte Vedra Beach, raising a record $22,000 for the organization.
A total of 250 items – donated by Ponte Vedra and Beaches-area merchants – were auctioned off at the event. Bogey Grille owner Derek Prince also donated a percentage of the night’s food and beverage sales to the MS Society.
The organization’s next big fundraiser will be the annual BikeMS: PGA TOUR Cycle to the Shore bike ride from Sawgrass to Daytona Beach and back, which will take place Oct. 13-14. More than 1,000 riders participate and raise $1 million at the event each year.
