Beaches Museum to host special events in August

The Beaches Museum will host several events during the month of August.

As part of the Beaches Museum & History Park's exhibit "Tide Runs Quiet," Thomas Hager will present a Gallery Tour & Discussion Aug. 26 at 11 a.m. featuring a discussion by Hager on the techniques and inspiration involved in creating his artwork.

The Beach Cruisers, a Beaches Museum Young Professional Group, will host History Happy Hour at the Rhoda L. Martin Cultural Heritage Center Aug. 31 at 6 p.m., the event will offer attendees a chance to learn about Martin, her impact on the Jacksonville Beach community and the history of the school house built in 1939. Additionally, Beach Cruisers will be collecting school supplies to benefit students in the community; participants who donate school supplies will receive an extra raffle ticket for the evening's drawing.
