Gate Express Car Wash planned for Nocatee Parkway

Gate Petroleum plans to build a Gate Express Car Wash at Nocatee Parkway and Davis Park Road, one of more than 20 such freestanding car washes the company plans to open across Northeast Florida.

The first location will open in the spring of 2017 at Collins Road and I-295, in front of the Super Walmart. In addition to the Nocatee Parkway site, other planned locations include A1A in South Ponte Vedra Beach, Beach Boulevard and Hodges Boulevard, Philips Highway and 9B, Emerson and Philips Highway, and Durbin Park.

The car washes will feature a 125 to 145-foot tunnel system that will use state-of-the-art technology and provide a car wash in under four minutes. The tunnel will accommodate between five and seven automobiles at a time, and drivers will have the option of pulling their vehicles into a vacuum bay to use free high-suction vacuums after the car wash is complete.

Pricing will begin at $5 per wash. Monthly membership packages will also be available. Operating hours will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Mayo Clinic Cancer Center at St. Vincent’s opens for patients

The Mayo Clinic Cancer Center located on the campus at St. Vincent’s Riverside is now open to patients. The newly built 11,500-square-foot medical suite, a collaboration between Mayo Clinic’s Florida campus and St. Vincent’s HealthCare, opened Oct. 17.

The community collaboration will enable patients to receive cancer care at Mayo Clinic Cancer Center at St. Vincent’s and come to Mayo’s San Pablo Road campus when they need highly complex care, such as bone marrow transplants.

Cancer services include medical oncology, an infusion center for chemotherapy, and multidisciplinary disease specialized care for various types of cancer.

As part of the agreement, the facility is staffed with physicians from Mayo Clinic’s Department of Hematology/Oncology while St. Vincent’s is assuming the remaining clinical and administrative responsibilities.

An official blessing and dedication ceremony for the new facility will take place Nov. 7.
