Coastal Wine Market & tasting room in Nocatee recently hosted Revolver Wine Co. winemaker and proprietor Bryan Page and expressionist artist Jonay di Ragno for its “Meet the Winemaker” and “Meet the Artist” events.
Page, who is based in Napa Valley, provided samples of five of his wines at the Nov. 14 event, including Vine | Vein Cabernet, Page Red Blend and Petite Verdot. Guests received 10 percent off Page’s tasting wines, in addition to his autograph on the bottle.
According to his website, Page describes the style of his wine as “an elegant mouth feel with edgy flavor profiles.” He began making wine nearly 20 years ago after taking a trip to Bordeaux region in France, where he fell in love with the region’s wines. After the tour concluded, he returned home to California, where he worked at several restaurants and apprenticed at a number of Napa Valley wineries with the goal of creating his own wine label. He founded Page Wine Cellars in 1997.
di Ragno, who visited Ponte Vedra Nov. 12 for the event, is a self-proclaimed “alchemist” inspired by the beauty of nature and his Mediterranean roots in Spain. His goal, he says, is to express everyday life through his artwork, which is inspired by the works of Gorky, De Kooning, Vicente, Picasso, Rothko and CY Tombly.
