BROWN, Donald Blane, born January 10th, 1975 in Titusville, FL to Don and Martha Carol Brown, was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on September 8, 2015 at his home in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Most important to Blane was his love for his children and his faith. Every aspect of his life centered around loving his children and fulfilling God’s calling in his life. Not only was he a man of strong faith, he was that rare individual that put his calling to minister and lead into action. From the young age of 20, he led several hundred Christian athletes at the University of North Florida by serving as Vice President and President of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at the University, sharing his ministry and leading young men and women to the Lord through multiple speaking engagements, Bible studies, and retreats. Blane continued to put his calling into action up until his last days through continued involvement in the FCA, his church, and daily life. In addition to the above-mentioned attributes that made Blane a great man, he was also a very talented and driven individual with many accomplishments and accolades both in his golf career as well as his professional career. Some of these include a nomination for the Sports Hall of Fame at his high school alma mater, Hernando High School, multiple junior golf victories including tying the scoring record of 12 under par in his 1992 victory of the Back to School Junior Golf Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, competing in multiple US Junior Amateurs, achieving NCAA Division I 2nd Team All American honors in men’s golf while completing his BA at the University of North Florida, and competing in multiple Canadian Professional Tour events. Blane’s drive and ability to lead people carried forward into his professional career as well and catapulted him into a position on the executive leadership team of Web.com as Director of Operations, leading a team of several hundred coworkers for a highly successful web solutions company, which during his tenure became the first publicly traded company in their space. Blane is survived by his parents: Don and Martha Carol Brown; daughter: Kendal Brown; son: Davis Brown; Mother of his children: Katherine Brown; Grandparents and uncle of his children: David, Pat, and Tyler Brown; sister: Kim Hunnicutt and family Blake, Haley, and J.B. Hunnicutt; brother: Boyd Brown and family Areen, and Emma Brown; as well as all other family and friends whose heart Blane touched. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ponte Vedra Presbyterian Church Youth Program, 4510 Palm Valley Rd., Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082; Fellowship of Christian Athletes at the University of North Florida; University of North Florida Men’s Golf Program.
