As part of its ongoing commitment to eliminating poor vision and its lifelong consequences, the Essilor Vision Foundation, in collaboration with the PGA Tour via the Web.com Tour Championship, kicked off its Kids Vision for Life Mobile Vision Clinic Four in Jacksonville this month at several local elementary schools.
The tour is part of an effort to build awareness within various communities among parents, educators and their elected officials while providing vision services to students in need at no cost to their families.
At the event, elementary school students received examinations and vision screenings. Those in need of glasses selected their own frames and received their glasses on the spot.
“Making a positive impact in the community where tournaments are held is part of the charitable mission of the PGA Tour,” said Don Glod, chief operating officer of the Web.com Tour. “The money generated at tournaments like the Web.com Tour events goes back into the local community in various ways, including events like today’s Kids Vision for Life Mobile Vision Clinic Tour.”
Nationwide tour stops will include locations in Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia and Pennsylvania.
