Want to know what it’s like behind the wheel of a brand new, super-sleek Porsche?

That will be just one of the highlights presenting sponsor Fields Auto Group will be bringing to the 2017 Ponte Vedra Auto Show on Sunday, Sept. 24, at the Nocatee Town Center.

This will be the second year in a row the company will serve as presenting sponsor of the auto show. Fields Auto Group also sponsored the event last year following the acquisition of previous sponsor Brumos Automotive in December 2015.

“Fields Auto Group is proud to partner with the 2017 Ponte Vedra Auto Show,” Garry Redig, vice president of operations of Fields Auto Group, said on the Auto Show’s website. “This will be an exciting event showcasing some of the best in the history of the automotive industry.”

Brandon Starks, general manager of Porsche Jacksonville, a member of Fields Auto Group, said the group was very impressed with last year’s show.

“Everybody was pretty amazed with the turnout and how much spectators seemed to enjoy the show,” Starks said. “We were extremely pleased with how it went.”

The relationship between Fields Auto Group and the Ponte Vedra Auto Show has been mutually beneficial.

“The partnership makes a lot of sense from both sides,” Starks said. “It’s a good way to get to know people in the community. It’s a good way to support the car community. The auto show also benefits from the enthusiasm of the (Fields Auto) Group.”

Some highlights for 2017

Like last year, visitors to the auto show will have the chance to test drive a variety of new Porsche models. Those interested in test driving the new Porsches can preregister by clicking on the events tab at porschejacksonville.com, and select a scheduled time from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Drivers must be at least 21 years old and have a valid U.S. driver’s license. Drivers may have guests ride along but only the registered party will be able to drive. A separate reservation must be created if more than one individual plans to test drive the Porsche.

Fields Auto Group — which represents BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Maserati, Land Rover, Lexus, Volvo, Rolls-Royce Moto Cars, Bentley, Lamborghini, Jaguar, Infiniti, MINI Cooper, Volkswagen, Jeep, Sprinter, Porsche, Ram, Chrysler, Dodge, smart and Cadillac — will also have many newer model sports and luxury cars on display. There will also be a hospitality tent for refreshments, gift bags and car specialists on hand to answer questions or provide additional information about the vehicles on display or carried by the Fields Auto Group.

Starks expects another impressive showing at this year’s event and an enduring relationship with the Ponte Vedra Auto Show.

“St. Johns County [Chamber of Commerce] is a wonderful partner,” he said.
