Tournament officials announced that Friday’s general parking lot passes for THE PLAYERS are sold out. Fans are reminded to seek alternative transportation for Friday: Uber, bike, golf cart or downtown shuttles. Parking passes for all other days are still available and can be purchased at THEPLAYERS.com/parking.
THE PLAYERS has a designated rideshare pick up and drop off location just steps from the Couples Entry off of ATP Boulevard. Rideshare vehicles will be staged outside the Couples Entry during peak exit times, making this one of the easiest modes of transportation for spectators.
· Getting to THE PLAYERS Championship:
o Download or update the Uber app on your phone
o Enter Destination: THE PLAYERS Championship
o Enter the tournament through the Couples Entry
· Leaving THE PLAYERS Championship:
o Exit tournament grounds through the Couples Entry
o Follow the tournament signage to the designated Uber pick up area outside the Couples Entry
o Get in available Uber and head to your preferred destination
As an added incentive, every fan who rideshares to THE PLAYERS will be greeted by a Topgolf ambassador upon arrival to the Couples Entry and handed a voucher that is good for $20 off game play at Topgolf Jacksonville (voucher must be used by March 23, 2020).
To help keep you safe, Uber screens drivers and builds technology with safety in mind. But there are also actions that you can take to help keep yourself safe. These tips were created in collaboration with law enforcement to help you stay safe while riding with Uber:
Check Your Ride: Every time you take a trip with Uber, please make sure you’re getting into the right car with the right driver by matching the license plate, car make and model, and driver photo with what’s provided in your app. Uber trips can only be requested through the app, so never get in a car where the vehicle or driver identity doesn't match what’s displayed in your app.
Have the driver confirm your name in addition to the Check Your Ride safety steps, you can also ask the driver to confirm your name before you get in the car. Your driver sees your first name in their app, and your driver’s first name is displayed to you in your app. To safely exchange names, you can ask, “Who are you here to pick up?” The driver may also ask you to confirm their name for their own peace of mind.
