Holiday gift wrapping returns for the Beaches community

Posted

If the holiday season is rapidly approaching, then gift-wrapping services must be close behind.

For the seventh consecutive year, local volunteers will offer gift-wrapping services to Beaches-area shoppers throughout December. One hundred percent of the donations from the service will provide programs and services for the more-than 18,000 North Floridians impacted by multiple sclerosis.

Wrapping will be provided 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. outside of Five Below and Gretchen's Hallmark in the South Beach Regional Shopping Mall, 3908 3rd St. South, Jacksonville Beach.

The dates are Dec. 4-5, 11-12, 18-19 and 20-24. Volunteers include staff from the North Florida Chapter of the MS Society, local elementary school teachers and members of the Southeast Region's leading fundraising bicycle team, Big Bananas.

The wrapping is available to anyone with packages from local stores or Jacksonville-area malls or having online purchases. Drop-off service will also be available, as well as concierge service. Just send a text to 904-982-6510 and volunteers will pick up, wrap and deliver presents.

Since 2010, Big Bananas has raised $1.4 million for the MS Society through local donations and events. This year, the team hit a record $173,000 for the recent Bike MS PGA TOUR Cycle to the Shore, a two-day ride from St. Augustine to Daytona Beach and back.
