J. McLaughlin partnered with Ponte Vedra Animal Hospital for a fundraising event on Valentine’s Day to support Teaching Animals and Inmates Life Skills (TAILS), an organization that gives dogs with behavioral issues a second chance by placing them in the care of trained inmates at Florida prisons.

Attendees of the “Sip and Shop” fundraising event enjoyed wine and hors d'oeuvres, the opportunity to play with several puppies, an appearance from celebrity dog Tiinkerbell and a drawing for different prizes. 15 percent of event sales benefitted TAILS, which has rescued 201 dogs from local shelters and connected them with inmates who are trained to care for the dogs, and socialize and teach them obedience skills.

J. McLaughlin hosts similar fundraisers each month to support animal-based charities, with previous organizations including Katz 4 Keeps and S.A.F.E. Animal Rescue.
