Jack T. Cheek


Jack T. Cheek Jr., 83, was born in Augusta, Georgia, on April 6, 1934, to the late Jack T. Cheek Sr. and Neva Price Cheek. He died and went to be with his Lord on Nov. 15, 2017. He is survived by Mary, his beloved wife of more than 64 years, and his three children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In his younger years, Jack loved riding his motorcycles and flying his acrobatic airplanes. He started his own meat and food brokerage company in 1968 and had been a member of the River Club and Lions Club International. He was also a major benefactor of Mayo Clinic and a founding member of TPC Sawgrass.

Jack loved his church, Ponte Vedra Presbyterian, where he served as a deacon. He was a strong advocate for stray and abused animals. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to K and C Pet Rescue, P.O. Box 389, Glen St. Mary, FL 32040.

A memorial celebration of his life will be held at Ponte Vedra Presbyterian Church on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017 at 11 a.m.
