The Jacksonville Arboretum & Gardens Board of Directors hired Ponte Vedra Beach resident Dana J. Doody as executive director for the nonprofit organization.
Doody brings more than 13 years of nonprofit experience to the position and most recently served as director of development with the North Florida Land Trust, where she raised more than $3 million. She is also is a Florida Master Naturalist, Uplands Graduate.
"As a board, our primary goal is to grow the arboretum into a sustainable organization and fully develop our botanical gardens while adding more impactful programs," said JAG Board President Ron Whittington.
“We felt Dana had the right skill set to help us achieve these goals, while sharing our vision and a real passion for the arboretum.”
Named as a “Woman of Influence” by the Jacksonville Business Journal in 2018, Doody previously worked as an account manager for the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce, where she created the Health Council for the Chamber and remains as one of the chamber’s most successful councils.
She also worked with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, where she oversaw three events and added a new event in Gainesville, Florida, CF Climb, which was well-received by the organization and participants.
Doody grew up in Jacksonville and attended Florida State College at Jacksonville. She is also a graduate of the Presidents Program of Sandler Sales Institute.
