Jacksonville Watercolor Society to host guest artist

Robert Leedy will share his watercolor and plein aire techniques at the January meeting of the Jacksonville Watercolor Society Jan. 28 at the Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach, located at 50 Executive Way. At the 7 to 9 p.m. meeting, which is free and open to the public, Leedy will demonstrate how to use bold color as a way for artists to loosen up their paintings.

Leedy grew up in Jacksonville and has lived in Paris, Brussels, Buenos Aires and the Caribbean. “I think it was growing up around all of this water and light that must have influenced my choice of watercolor,” said the artist, who has exhibited his work throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. He is a member of The National Watercolor Society. For more information, visit jacksonvillewatercolorsociety.org.
