Junior Achievement of North Florida is gearing up for its big virtual event, Building Better Tomorrows.
The nonprofit is holding the online fundraiser from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 22. It will be streamed live on the JA of North Florida YouTube channel.
Virtual guests can go now to janfl.org and click on Events to register for the event for free. There is also an opportunity to purchase one or more of the 100 tickets available for the chance to win prizes worth thousands of dollars.
“We have some great prizes our guests will have the opportunity to win, including a trip to Colorado, a complete day of golf at TPC Sawgrass and more,” said Tiffany Mackey Guthrie, director of development for JA of North Florida. “We will also be taking a look at JA’s impact on the community and will be paying tribute to our retiring president, Steve St. Amand. We hope everyone will join us.”
For $100 per ticket, one winner will receive a four-night stay at a private residence in Winter Park, Colorado, plus a $1,000 Delta Airlines ticket voucher to get there. The mountain getaway is a three-bedroom, two-and-a-half bathroom home with views of the slopes. The prize package is worth $4,275.
For $75 per ticket, one winner will be picked to receive a round of golf for four at the Tournament Players Club at Sawgrass. The prize includes cart fees, green fees and forecaddie fees, plus lunch for four. The winner will also get four JA golf shirts, golf balls, ball markers and other prizes. This package is worth $2,500.
Donations can also be made before and during the event through the website or by texting JANFL to 50155.
Local personality Al Emerick will serve as emcee for the event.
