Local high school senior volunteers before attending college in the Big Easy

Livi Bowers, a senior at Ponte Vedra High School, has two essential roles as a volunteer at Community Hospice & Palliate Care. She is President of the Community PedsCare Teen Advisory Board, and the talented artist also takes part in the Creative HeARTs program, painting portraits of pets in the Pet Therapy program.

“Growing up, my family was very involved with Halloween Doors & More, and I could not wait until I was old enough to become a volunteer for Community Hospice.” Bowers said.

The teen has worked hard as an ambassador to raise awareness and funds for the Community PedsCare program, and she said she very much enjoys interacting with hospice patients through art therapy.

Next year, Bowers will be attending Tulane University in New Orleans. But the Florida native plans to continue volunteering at Community Hospice during her college breaks.

“Livi has been a wonderful volunteer for us. She is a gifted artist with a beautiful soul,” Betsy Miller, volunteer coordinator, Community Hospice & Palliative Care, said.
