Ellis joins The Quick Law Group
Attorney Sheryl Ellis has joined The Quick Law Group, focusing on family law and protecting the rights of women and children.
Ellis brings to the firm experience handling a myriad of legal cases including family law, civil litigation, business law and injury claims. She has represented clients at evidentiary hearings, depositions and mediations, and is a member of the Young Lawyers division of the Florida Bar Association.

Girls Inc. to honor Liang as 2017 Woman of Vision
Girls Inc. of Jacksonville will honor Paula Liang as its 2017 Woman of Vision at the organization’s Celebration Luncheon, to be held April 18 at WJCT.
The Celebration Luncheon recognizes remarkable leaders across an array of companies, industries and sectors who are examples of success and leadership. The keynote speaker for this year’s luncheon will be Arun Gandhi, a descendant of Mahatma Gandhi, who will talk about the importance of educating and investing in a girl as an avenue for creating strong families and communities. National Girls Inc. CEO Judy Vredenburgh will also be on hand for the event.
An attorney, Liang has an extensive background in the nonprofit sector leading capital campaigns and fundraising campaigns. The co-chair of the Florida Women’s Funding Alliance, Liang also serves on the board of the Women’s Collective Giving Grantmaking Network and is the immediate past president of the Women’s Giving Alliance. She served as a director of the Jacksonville PACE Center for Girls and is currently on the advisory board of Donasity, a Jacksonville-based online fundraising start-up.
Cultural Center welcomes new board members
The Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach recently welcomed its 2017 board of directors.

NEXT Financial Group names Cowan president
St. Augustine native Cary Cowan has been appointed as the next president of NEXT Financial Insurance Services.
Cowan is the chairman, CEO and division manager of Cowan Financial Group, Inc. as well as the author of “The Lifetime Financial Strategies, a 21st Century Financial Planning Process.” With more than 46 years of financial services experience, Cowan he has been with NEXT since 2003, serving on the broker-dealer’s board as director since 2006.
“I am ready to take on this new role and maintain the quality support and services that NEXT Representatives have become accustomed to over the years, while adding some new value of my own,” Cowan said.
Snowberger joins BUZZ Media Group as president
Joe Snowberger has joined the BUZZ Media Group as president, overseeing its growth.
Snowberger has a record of success in both the private and public sector. He served as director of operations for Downtown Vision, Inc.; campus director and community relations coordinator for Columbia College; and program manager and executive producer at PRC Digital Media. He most recently served as community consultant and economic liaison for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and continues to serve as the CEO of the Jacksonville Historic Naval Ship Association, whose mission is to establish Florida’s First Naval Warship Museum on the USS Adams and locate the ship at the former Jacksonville Shipyards.
Snowberger spent 24 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring in 2000 as lieutenant commander. While enlisted, he graduated summa cum laude from Troy University with a bachelor’s degree in management. He also earned his MBA from Webster University.
“I am excited to join BUZZ as we expand our operations to provide the Jacksonville community with an excellent resource,” Snowberger said. “We are more than just a magazine, we are a way for local businesses to connect with the Jacksonville community on a new platform. Advantage Dermatology expands staff, offers new products and services
Jacksonville’s Advantage Dermatology recently expanded its practice through the addition of new medical and support staff. The office recently underwent extensive renovations and has also added new aesthetic and dermatology procedures to its offerings. In addition, Founder Dr. Oliver Perez has launched a private-label skin care line, “The Skin Advantage,” that technology with botanicals for individuals with targeted dermatology, surgical, oncology and aesthetic issues.
