Musical set during Northeast Blackout of ’65

The next show in Limelight Theatre’s Season 33 is a darkly comic rock fable set during the notorious blackout of 1965 that impacted parts of 10 states and Ontario. “Fly By Night,” directed by Sherrie Provence, is a “star-crossed prophecy within a metaphysical musical.”

The show runs May 9-25 on the theater’s Inez McDonald Mainstage. The action takes place in New York City and concerns a melancholy sandwich maker whose humdrum life is intersected by two entrancing sisters. This sweeping ode to young love is a tale about making your way and discovering hope in a world beset by darkness.

As a special promotion, anyone who lived through the blackout of ’65 and wants to share their story will have a chance to be entered into a drawing for a ticket to every show in Season 34 — a $250 value. To be entered in the drawing, a person simply has to share their interesting, lived experience of the blackout on social media and tag the Limelight.

The show stars Heather Starling as Daphne, Daniel Starling as Harold McClam, Brian Johnson as Mr. McClam, Amanda Pazos as Miriam, Matthew Turnage as Joey Storm, David Buchman as The Narrator and Don Cupo as Mr. Crabble.

Tickets may be purchased at www.limelight.ludus.com or by calling the box office at 904-825-1164. Tickets are $35.
