On Thursday, Oct. 15, Kingsminster Ponte Vedra welcomed prospective parents and students to its first official open house at the link in Nocatee Town Center. Though the school is still in the early phases of construction, with an opening date of August 2027, Founding Director of Enrollment & Community Engagement Jessica Harvey and other school leadership members were there to put in some face-to-face time and answer burning questions.

“The entire point of this is not only for Kingsminster to get to know the students, but for the families to get to know Kingsminster,” Harvey said. “We want to tell you what’s different about Kingsminster, then we want you to leave us at the open house and go tell someone you care about what you learned.”

The link welcomed 80 prospective parents to its immersive 360 room, where it played a slideshow of renderings showing the completed vision for the school. As the first open house of its kind for Kingsminster, Harvey mentioned that there was an extremely helpful and open dialogue of questions, which she and fellow leadership were happy to answer.

The first round of applications for Kingsminster opened on Sept. 15, serving as the catalyst for this month’s open house. A surge of interest in the school inspired leadership to gather the community for updates on progress, since its last gathering was the school’s groundbreaking in June.

At the open house, Harvey and fellow leadership talked about the six convictions that shape the school, how the school is recruiting its founding faculty, and the school’s approach to learning. Most recently, Kingsminster finished its curriculum summit, which means leadership is having more serious conversations about frameworks and approaches to learning.

The actual building is also coming along nicely, according to Harvey, with foundation and wall pouring expected in the coming months. Once the first round of enrollment acceptances go out in late January to early February, the school will begin welcoming founding families on-site to see its progress.

In the meantime, applications for Kingsminster Ponte Vedra are currently open on a rolling admissions basis. Leadership will begin reviewing applications in November and send out acceptances in the new year.

The next open house at the link in Nocatee will take place on Nov. 5, from 6 to 7 p.m., though prospective families are welcome to submit an application at any point, whether they attend an open house or not. For further information, go to kingsminsterpv.com.
