Ponte Vedra Auto Show rolls into town

The St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce will host the 17th annual Ponte Vedra Auto Show presented by Fields Auto Group from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, at the Nocatee Event Field.
Three special anniversaries and one Memorial trophy will be showcased at this year's show. One of them is 50th Anniversary of the Porsche Mid-engine honoring the anniversary of the 914. There will be opportunities to sign up for a Porsche test drive.

The variety of vehicles at the show is vast. For the muscle car enthusiast, a 1969 Ford Mustang recently registered for the show. It’s a bright red ragtop with white interior. For the classic history buff, there will be a 1942 Chrysler Royal Business Coupe that was built just three days after Pearl Harbor. Those are just two examples of the caliber of vehicles that will be on display.

Since the venue is located in a “golf cart community,” the Auto Show presents the inaugural “Spirit of Nocatee” Golf Cart Award. Golf carts decked out in “Spirit of Nocatee” fashion will vie for the top spot.

For the first time the Ponte Vedra Auto Show has added a Car Corral where registrants can show off a ride or offer a vehicle for sale. Car shows and Concours are great places to look for a classic or muscle car. The Corral will provide the opportunity to speak with a prospective buyer in detail, a buying experience is much more desirable than shopping for a car from pictures online. The Corral is sponsored by J7 Motorsports and organizers anticipate spaces to sell out quickly.
The auto show, which is open to the public and free to spectators, will feature up to 180 classic and new collector cars all vying for the 30 trophies.
Spray Park parking will be open for guest parking this year.
