The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall will host bluegrass ensemble The Travelin’ McCourys with guest Wild Shiners Saturday, Jan. 20.
The band features Ronnie McCoury on mandolin, Rob McCoury on banjo, Jason Carter on the fiddle and Alan Bartram on bass. The Travelin’ McCourys recently played with the Allman Brothers at Wanee Fest and at Warren Hynes’ Annual Christmas Jam, an invitation only southern rock homecoming. They’ve also performed with Phish and have a scheduled tour with Lee Boys.
Wild Shiners has been called a "face-melting Americana” quintet and stands by that. With banjo, fiddle, flatpick guitar, upright bass, and drums, the Wild Shiners are never ones to shy away from a groove. The boys in the band play high energy bluegrass-inspired rock and roll.
Tickets for the performance at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall are available for purchase at the box office, www.ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster outlets or by phone at (800) 745-3000. Doors open at 7 p.m. The show starts at 8 p.m. For more information, visit www.pvconcerthall.com or www.thetravelinmccourys.com.
