A local resident residing on Ponte Vedra Boulevard was arrested and charged with multiple felonies on Tuesday, including soliciting a child for sex and using a computer to lure a child.

According to an arrest report from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, Ryan Peirson, 30, of 661 Ponte Vedra Blvd., allegedly used the social media platform Snapchat to try to lure a 15-year-old girl to his home on Tuesday.

The report states that the mother of the victim became aware her daughter was communicating to Peirson and alerted the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office. After being told the victim was 15, Peirson reportedly said, “I don’t care,” in reference to her being underage. Afterward, he sent the account a lewd picture of himself, according to the report.

Deputies reported that they were granted permission to use the victim’s Snapchat account to arrange to meet Peirson. He was subsequently arrested.

When questioned by the police, Peirson was reported as nodding his head and saying, “I know,” when asked about traveling to meet a child for sex.

In addition to charges related to attempting to lure a minor for sex, Peirson was charged with possessing methamphetamine.
