The Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra Beach recently hosted a reception at Table 1 for the club’s mentorship program. More than 20 Rotarians were each introduced to a member of the Beaches Rotaract Club, the Rotary Club for young adults ages 18 to 30. Through the mentorship program, Rotarians will meet one-on-one on a regular basis with their Rotaract member to offer professional development and career advice.
“This is such a huge blessing,” said Rotaract Club Secretary Natalie Smith, who will be mentored this year by Rotarian Kelly Sastre. “It’s a great opportunity to grow and learn from people who have already paved the way for us.”
Sastre – the local Rotary district chair for Rotaract – agreed, saying the professional development opportunity also strengthens Rotary by introducing young professionals to the global community service organization.
“This is the bloodline of Rotary,” she said, “young adults coming in with fresh ideas.”
