Cruise attire will be the dress code at Project SOS’s upcoming “Grand Anchor Gala: Port of Call – Hawaii.”
To be held from 6 to 9 p.m. March 18 at the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa, the annual gala will feature dinner and live entertainment by comedian John Crist. A wine drawing will also be held, while live and silent auctions will give guests a chance to bid on a variety of items and experiences, including vacations, mission trips and more.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Project SOS (Strengthening Our Society), a nonprofit organization aimed at equipping teens with the critical life skills needed to make positive choices and protect themselves from unhealthy situations and relationships. Working with middle and high school students, Project SOS’s youth development specialists go into the classroom and teach kids age-appropriate strategies for dealing with issues in eight key areas: goal setting, boundaries, refusal strategies, healthy and unhealthy relationships, media influences, substance abuse, sexual risk avoidance, and anti-bullying/self-harm/suicide.
Tickets for the Grand Anchor Gala are $125 per person. For tickets or more information, visit www.projectsos.com.
