PVPV/Rawlings Elementary School had its annual Turtle Trot Fund Run Oct. 20, raising more than $97,000 to revitalize the outdoor spaces on the PVPV and Rawlings playgrounds.

Organized by the PTO, Community Partners in Education and Coastal Luxury Outdoors, the fundraiser underscored the importance of outdoor play and recess toward a well-rounded school experience while encouraging fitness for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. To participate in the Turtle Trot Fund Run, students walked or ran up to 30 minutes while being cheered on by their teachers, family members and community partners, including Coastal Luxury Outdoors, Chick-fil-A, Lazzara Orthodontics, Jake Bestic, Ponte Vedra Realty and New York Life. Volunteers marked each lap completed on the back of the t-shirts featuring the Turtle Trot logo donated to each student by the PTO.

“Coastal Luxury Outdoors was thrilled to be the community partner for the Turtle Trot this year and looks forward to partnering for years to come,” owner Kevin Carroll said. “We were incredibly impressed with the PTO’s planning and execution of this event. They raised a significant amount of money while providing a fun experience for the kids and families.”
