The Salvation Army of Northeast Florida will accept applications for Thanksgiving and Christmas assistance from Oct. 4 to 22 for Jacksonville residents. Applications will be conducted online, and families are required to provide documentation about their household to qualify for assistance.

Applicants must upload the following eligibility documents in the online application process.

Thanksgiving assistance includes groceries for a traditional Thanksgiving meal based on family size. This will be distributed Nov. 23 at The Salvation Army’s food pantry at 900 W. Adams St., Jacksonville.

Christmas assistance includes at least one new toy, one new outfit and one stocking for children ages 12 years and younger of qualifying families participating in the Salvation Army of Jacksonville’s Angel Tree program.

Angel Tree gift bags will be distributed by appointment Dec. 15. Applicants may apply for Thanksgiving assistance, Angel Tree program assistance, or both.

“Last year, we provided Christmas assistance to over 4,000 Duval children, doubling from the previous year, and we anticipate serving even more families due to pandemic poverty,” said area commander Major Keath Biggers. “We appreciate the support of our friends and donors, which is needed now more than ever to help every family in need.”
