Select St. Johns County bridges closed due to Hurricane Irma

Posted

The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office, in conjunction with St. Johns County Emergency Management, has ordered the closing of select county bridges crossing major waterways, including the Usina (Vilano) Bridge, Bridge of Lions, O’Connell (312) Bridge, SR 206 Bridge, Shands Bridge, and Palm Valley Bridge.

They will remain closed for an extended period of time until the barrier islands have been assessed, and the Florida Department of Transportation inspects the approaches and bridges and deems them safe for vehicular traffic.
