SenioRITAs Tennis Tournament to benefit breast cancer research, programs

The Annual SenioRITAs Tennis Tournament will be held Oct. 21-23 at Sawgrass Country Club, marking the 17th tournament to benefit breast cancer research, education and patient programs.

Festivities were scheduled to begin Oct. 19 with a party and auction at Sawgrass Country Club. The first round of play begins Friday, Oct. 21 at 8 a.m., with breakfast and lunch provided for players. An exhibition presented by Regency Centers will begin at 6 p.m. that evening at the Sawgrass Country Club Racquet Club.

Tournament play will continue Saturday, Oct. 22 with breakfast and lunch provided for players. Semi-final and final matches are scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 23. In addition to breakfast and lunch, complimentary margaritas will be provided by SenioRITAs as Sawgrass.

Tournament Chairman Karen Aaro and Chuck Jantz have worked with an event committee to plan the tournament, which attracts more than 300 women age 40 and over. All tournament proceeds go to the Mayo Clinic and Baptist Medical Center Beaches for their breast cancer treatment, education and patient services. To date, the SenioRITAs Tennis Tournmant has raised more than $1.5 million for the fight against breast cancer.
